A growing set of video and images of our events. This will populate slowly as we want to ensure that there are decent image and video descriptions for each one.
The front image of this video is against a bright orange background with text and a picture. The text reads Poetry for All: 25/11/22 7pm. The image is of a short, white person with short, dark hair gesturing with the “thank you” sign in BSL to an audience who are raising their hands in the air to give the BSL applause sign. Below the picture is text reading National Centre for Early Music Carers and Service Dogs welcome. The UK’s accessible poetry event, for anyone facing barriers to enjoying poetry. Sponsored by @MakeItYork. Level entry, BSL terp.
After the front image, we move to static view of a tall, blonde woman standing in front of a projection screen which has text of a poem on it. The room she’s in is very warmly lit and the wall behind her is a mix of plain white paint above and wooden panels below. There is a shorter, white woman with glasses out of the spotlight, to one side of her, who is providing BSL interpretation. The performer has curly hair and a black teeshirt with white writing on it underneath a long, open robe with some kind of pattern on it and loose, stripy trousers. She has a music stand with a notebook on it and a mic stand, which she has to be directed to stand closer to. She signs, herself, to accompany the words she’s saying. Her movements are large and expressive, almost dance-like. End video description.
